Morte Point, Mortehoe, Rockham Beach (Mortehoe Beach) and Bull Point lighthouse
Morte Point (Death Point) named because of the numerous shipwrecks that have occured over the year is a rugged piece of North Devon coastline. The views are stunning with amazing wildlife and the occasional glimpse of seals playing in the sea.
From morte point you can walk out to Bull Point lighthouse passing Rockham Beach.
Rockham Beach (Mortehoe Beach) has no vehicular access so you need to park in Mortehoe and walk out. It is accessed from steps down the cliff but it seems to have no access to the beach anymore as the wooden steps seem to have been washed away again 🙁
Second option a shorter option is to walk from Morte point up hill to the village of Mortehoe and walk back down the road to Woolacombe. We took this option deciding to next time park at Mortehoe and walk out to Bull point and onto Lee Bay Beach.
It was so rugged and wild it was stunning. The weather was cloudy which was good as a lot of walking up hill kept us cool.
Look out for the Morte point famous seals we saw 11 the day we walked past 🙂
