Boswellic Acid

Boswellic acid, and Indian frankincense. 

The main components of frankincense oil is boswellic acid, this component is known to have anti-neoplastic properties.

Frankincense has been used for thousands of years for its medicinal properties. It is believed that frankincense is one of the most potent natural substances in existence. It has been used for healing, to treat infections, and to promote good health.

Frankincense has been used for centuries to treat various types of cancer, heart conditions, and arthritis. A powerful anti inflammatory which can prevent the formation of leukotrienes in the body.

Boswellia Trees

Frankincense/Olibanum, is obtained from Boswellia trees which thrive in the middle east and Africa.

Boswellia trees can grow up to 40-50 feet tall. The sap/ resin exudes from  small hole and cuts in the bark and is collected by hand. 

The best quality is from the Boswellia serrata tree(Indian frankincense).

Frankincense is valued as a perfume fixative, as well as a healing agent. 

History of Frankincense

Frankincense is often referred to as “the king of essential oils” as it was one of the gifts bestowed to Jesus Christ at his birth. Which has made francincescene a key part of religious ceremonies for hundreds of years.
