Date Chocolate Brownies

Vegan Date Chocolate Brownies
- 225g Dates
- 60g Rye Flour
- 3 tbsp Cocoa Powder
- 1 Mashed Overripe Banana
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 100g Margarine Vegan
- 75g Pecans
- 1 tsp Vanilla or Orange Essence
Preparing the Brownie
Warm the oven 180ºC
Pop the dates in a saucepan with water just covering the dates. Medium heat cook for 5 minutes until soft.
Once cooked, drain off the water, and then cool them down with cold water and purée the dates.
Put flour, baking powder and cocoa powder in a mixing bowl and set to one side.
Cream together the dates and the margarine until light and fluffy.
Add the banana, pecans and vanilla / orange essence.
Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes
